Terms of use
Last updated 7 November 2026. This version takes effect on the same date.
These terms are an agreement between you and Kishan Jaiswal, Coimbatore - 641014, Tamil Nadu, India ("we", "us"), who provides Account Runway: the apps for Android and iPhone, the web app and the website (together, "the service"). By creating an account or using the service you accept these terms and the privacy policy. If you use the service for a business, you accept them on its behalf and confirm you may do so.
1. Who can use it
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract under the law that applies to you.
2. What the service is, and is not
Account Runway helps you record money given and received, sales, purchases, salaries, dues, cash and bank balances, files, reminders and reports, alone or with people you invite. It is a record-keeping tool. It is not a bank, a payment service, a lender or a wallet: it does not hold or move money. It does not give financial, tax, accounting or legal advice. Its figures are only as accurate as what is entered, so check important figures before relying on them, especially for tax returns, loans or legal matters.
3. Your account
- You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email. Keep your email account secure: anyone who can read it could sign in.
- Keep your devices safe; you can see and sign out every device in Settings, and turn on the app lock.
- Tell us at once at jaiswalkishan0010@gmail.com if you think someone else has used your account.
- Give a true email address. One person should not share an account; invite others to a book instead.
4. Books, members and sharing
- The owner of a book decides who is in it and with what role, and is responsible for the people they invite. Removing someone stops their access; what they added stays in the book's history.
- When an owner deletes their account, every book they own is deleted for everyone in it. Export anything you need first.
- Statement links and PDF statements show the shared details to whoever holds them. Share them only with the people they concern.
- Entries are never silently erased: a cancelled or changed entry stays in the book's history, so everyone in the book can trust it.
5. Your responsibilities
- You are responsible for what you record and share, and for keeping it accurate.
- When you record other people's details, you must have a lawful reason to do so and treat their details with care.
- You must not use the service for anything illegal, including fraud, money laundering, illegal moneylending, unlawful interest, or evading tax; to harass, threaten or embarrass anyone; or to send spam.
- Reminders and messages you send to others from the service are your messages: send them politely, at reasonable times, and only to people who owe or are owed money.
6. Things you must not do
Do not try to get into accounts or data that are not yours, test or break our security, overload or disrupt the service, copy it at scale, or reverse-engineer it except where the law allows. Do not upload harmful files or content you have no right to share. Do not pretend to be someone else.
7. Plans, prices and payment
- Some features need a plan of 3, 6 or 12 months. The price, in your currency and including the taxes your store charges, is shown before you buy.
- Plans bought in Google Play or the App Store are billed by that store and renew automatically for the same period until you cancel. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date in the store's subscription settings; the plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
- Refunds follow the store's own refund policy. Where the law gives you a right to a refund, nothing in these terms takes it away.
- If we change a plan's price, we tell you before it applies to your next renewal, and you may cancel before then.
- Without an active plan you can always open, read and export your data.
- We may give free access, for example during testing or as a gift. It ends on the date shown in the app.
8. Your data
Your books and files belong to you. You allow us to store, process, back up and display them only so that we can provide the service to you and the people you share with, as the privacy policy describes. You can export them at any time and delete your account at any time.
9. Our service and our rights
The apps, website, software, design and the Account Runway name and logo belong to us or our licensors. These terms give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the service; they give you no other rights in it. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them freely, without any obligation to you.
10. Availability and changes
We work to keep the service running and your data safe, with daily backups, but the service may sometimes be unavailable, for example during maintenance or because of problems outside our control. We may improve, change or remove features. If we ever stop the service, we will give at least 60 days' notice so that you can export your data.
11. Other services
The service works with others, such as Google Play, the App Store, WhatsApp and your email provider. Their own terms apply to your use of them, and we are not responsible for them.
12. Disclaimer
To the extent the law allows, the service is provided "as is" and "as available", without promises that it will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that it will suit a particular purpose. You remain responsible for decisions you make using figures from the service.
13. Limit of our liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profits, lost business or lost data that you could have exported, and our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the larger of the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim and ₹1,000. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud or under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
14. Indemnity
If someone makes a claim against us because of what you recorded or shared, or because you broke these terms or the law, you will cover the reasonable losses and costs this causes us.
15. Suspension and ending
You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the law, or to protect other users or the service; where we can, we will tell you first and let you export your data. Sections that by their nature should continue (for example 8, 12, 13, 14 and 17) continue after the account ends.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using the service after that, the new terms apply; if you do not agree, you can delete your account.
17. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Please contact us first so that we can try to solve the problem. If we cannot, the courts at Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India, have jurisdiction, without taking away any right you have as a consumer to approach a consumer commission or the courts where you live.
18. General
These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the service. If a part of them cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a right at once, we have not given it up. You may not transfer these terms; we may transfer them to whoever takes over the service, with notice to you. These terms may be shown in other languages; if they differ, the English version applies.
